NFOŚiGW opened the third call of Przemysł energochłonny – OZE on 2 November 2026; applications go through the GWD generator until 30 April 2027 or until the PLN 348.5 million Modernisation Fund budget is used up. It targets companies holding legal title to an EU ETS installation, such as steelworks, cement and chemical plants, refineries and large CHP plants, not in liquidation or bankruptcy.
Support is a loan of up to 100% of eligible costs with a productivity bonus and partial forgiveness under conditions set in the programme documentation (interest rate and forgiveness share to be confirmed). Eligible projects are new or modernised RES electricity generation units, energy storage integrated with the RES source built in the same project, and grid connection. At least 80% of the electricity must be self-consumed; heat-only and cogeneration projects are excluded, and only equipment made no more than 48 months before installation may be used.
For installers: an EPC opportunity for multi-MW rooftop or ground-mounted PV with co-located battery storage behind the meter at industrial sites; prepare productivity and self-consumption calculations early, because applications are ranked by submission time.
