Netherlands: cabinet signals 'promising' fix for double energy tax on home batteries from 1 January 2027

State Secretary Eerenberg told Parliament on 5 November 2026 that a method developed with market parties can prevent double energy tax on home batteries from 1 January 2027 without changing the law; TNO reviews the risks in November and publication is planned for early December.

Netherlands: ISDE 2027 adds €200 smart heat-pump bonus, cuts air-water rate; still no PV or battery subsidy

RVO has published the intended ISDE changes for 1 January 2027: a €200 bonus for smart-controllable heat pumps, the A+++ bonus up to €250, air-water heat pumps down to €120 per kW and no more subsidy for electric cooking. Applications reopen on 5 January 2027 at 12:00.

Netherlands / Flevoland: home-battery subsidy exhausted within a day; next tranche expected in early 2027

Flevoland's home-battery subsidy is closed for 2026: the roughly €400,000 released on 1 October 2026 was used up within a day. The second half of the €1.75 million budget reopens in early 2027, split again between owner-occupiers and tenants.

Netherlands: net-metering (salderen) ends on 1 January 2027 — demand for home batteries and consumption control grows

The end date of 1 January 2027 is unchanged. The minister has finalised the 2027 rules: suppliers may keep charging feed-in costs but must show both the compensation and the costs per kWh on the invoice; most suppliers have published 2027 tariffs with net compensation of only a fraction of a cent per kWh.

SupportNet metering ends 1 Jan 2027; afterwards at least 50% of the bare electricity price for fed-in power until 2030, minus feed-in costs that suppliers must state per kWh on the invoice

Netherlands: 0% VAT on panels on homes; home batteries still 21% — no national subsidy

There is no national panel subsidy (ISDE does not cover them); supply and installation of panels on or next to a home carry 0% VAT. A home battery — 21% VAT even when installed with panels; the government confirmed in early 2026 that no national battery subsidy is coming for now.
