The Finnish Tax Administration confirmed on 13 October 2026 that the kotitalousvähennys increase approved by Parliament applies retroactively to costs paid from 1 January 2026 and stays in force for 2027. For work bought from a company the deduction rises from 35% to 40% of the labour share; for wages paid to an employee from 13% to 15% plus employer contributions. The annual maximum per person rises from €1,600 to €2,100, and the €150 deductible is unchanged. A couple can therefore deduct up to €4,200 per year.
The deduction covers only the installation labour of a solar PV, battery or charging-point job at the customer's home, never the hardware. The full €2,100 is reached at roughly €5,600 of labour per person. Customers can benefit immediately by ordering a new tax card in OmaVero, or claim the amount in the pre-completed tax return in spring 2027.
For installers: Re-issue 2026 quotes and invoices with the labour share stated separately — the retroactive rise means customers who paid earlier in 2026 can now claim more. Splitting a large job over two tax years (2026 and 2027) doubles the available cap.
