The Federal Ministry for Economy, Energy and Tourism (BMWET) announced on 7 October 2026 that the third EAG call for PV and storage would run from 8 October (ticket draw from 17:00) to 22 October 2026 with €38.5 million instead of the regular €8 million – the extra €30.5 million being residual funds from earlier calls where projects were not or only partly realised. Across 2026 the three calls totalled about €128.5 million (€70m in April–May, €20m in June, €38.5m in October).
The June call showed why the system is being replaced: almost 28,000 applications requested about €120 million for roughly €20 million available, and only about 3,000 projects were approved, with the budget allocated within 33 seconds. From 2027 the ministry plans a storage bonus for new PV systems and retrofits, an intelligent energy-management system as a funding requirement and a continuous, application-after-completion model instead of individual calls. Bonus levels and technical criteria are still being finalised and the EAG amendment needs a two-thirds majority in parliament.
For installers: no further EAG call is scheduled for 2026. Customers who missed out can resubmit under the new system in 2027; document component origin now, because the Made in Europe bonus must be claimed with the application.
