The second call of IDAE's programme for innovative renewables and storage (RENOINN 2, NextGenerationEU) accepted applications from 14 January to 19 February 2026. Demand reached 229 % of the initial €202.5 million, so the budget was raised by €166 million on 4 June and by a further €65 million on 17 July 2026, to €433.5 million. The definitive resolution of 28 July 2026 awarded €433.4 million to 524 projects representing €1.19 billion of investment, 1,225.66 MW of generation and 2,320.72 MWh of storage. Lines covered agrivoltaics with storage (above 200 kWp), floating PV (500 kWp or more), renewables on infrastructure, collective self-consumption with storage serving vulnerable consumers (100 kWp or more) and renewable heat pumps.
The €250 million figure quoted earlier was the initial budget of the first call, resolved on 1 August 2025. Awarded projects must be completed by 30 June 2030; the advance-payment and guarantee procedure was updated on 10 September 2026. No third call has been published.
For installers: winning EPCs are now in procurement — expect demand for bifacial modules on agrivoltaic structures and for storage sized to the awarded MWh; check the IDAE portal for waiting-list awards or a new call before promising subsidies.
